EASSy Network - Overview
EASSy is a 2 fibre pair (59 wavelengths per fibre) more than 10Tbps system interconnecting 21 African countries and a range of international destinations. It has the largest number of African landing stations of any east African system (9), namely:
Mtunzini, South Africa
Maputo, Mozambique
Toliary, Madagascar
Grande Comore, Comores
Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
Mombasa, Kenya
Mogadishu, Somalia
Djibouti
Port Sudan, Sudan

EASSy connects to the largest network of national African fibre backbones. EASSy is the only eastern and southern half system based on a collapsed ring architecture providing resilience against equipment and branch failure. At US$263m, EASSy has the lowest cost base of any submarine cable with multiple landings on the eastern and southern coast.

Onward connectivity has been secured through interconnection agreements, with various international submarine cable operators. These ensure that our customers benefit from cost-effective, reliable and seamless connectivity between cities throughout southern and eastern Africa and the world's key commercial / financial centres and internet exchanges.
